Ofgem to recruit two Senior Economists

This is a greenfield role to work within a newly created professional, fast paced and collegiate team working to tight schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications and Expertise • A degree in economics or related discipline of 2.1 or higher. • Masters degree in economics or a related discipline would be advantageous. • Wide-ranging expertise in applying regulatory economics and/or developing policy in a commercial or public sector environment, ideally gained within the energy sector. • Complex project management and delivery.
The role will involve working closely with senior management across a variety of departments, developing regulatory policy and leading discussions with both industry operators and representative groups on such issues as Regulatory Reviews, Competition Act cases and major policy initiatives.
The role will also involve managing and delivering energy market-related projects, as well as preparing major policy documents and contributing to the development of economic policy discussions.
